Mellott news item Nellie Lea Jackson, 78, Crawfordsville, died Wednesday in her residence.  Mrs. Jackson was a nurse at Culver Union Hospital for 32 years.

Her memberships included First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and Cabalistic Club.

She was born Sept. 24, 1927 at Fountain County to Ward Riffle and Dorothy Eva (Mears) Foxworthy. She married Ronald Lee Jackson May 2, 1945, at Crawfordsville. He survives.

Also surviving are sons Ronald Eugene, Linwood, N.J., and Paul Lee, Crawfordsville; a daughter, Nancy Turpin, Lebanon; two brothers, Oscar, Veedersburg, and Archie, Marshall; six grandchildren; and 10
great-grandchildren.

A brother and sister are deceased.

Funeral services are scheduled 1 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church, with Rev. George Plasterer officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will follow in Cooper's Chapel Cemetery, south of Covington.

Memorials may be made to Montgomery County Animal Shelter.
